Guy Dabby-Joory, a member of the Jewish Diplomatic Corps Academy and former Lauder Fellow, recently met with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on behalf of the Union of Jewish Students (UJS) to discuss the troubling rise in antisemitism on university campuses.
Just this week, global headlines reported on an informal vote that occurred at last month's National Union of Students (NUS) conference. The vote aimed to strip the UJS of its role as the representative voice of Jewish students within the NUS, due to its pro-Israel stance. Although unofficial and informally conducted, the committee vote received majority support for removing the UJS.

The World Jewish Congress expresses its dismay over these developments and stands firmly with the UJS. It is commendable to see Prime Minister Sunak supporting Jewish students during these challenging times, as we witness an alarming increase in antisemitic incidents and hostility on university campuses across the UK and around the world.
