As part of her fellowship project, Lauder Fellow Holly Feldman hosted a Shabbat dinner with AUJS Victoria for over 220 university students. Post-October 7th, many Australian Jews have understandably had a very difficult time at university. This Shabbat dinner helped to create a new space for Jewish students to understand the support and community that they have, reinforcing the idea that universities should be a place where students are empowered to proudly and freely express their Jewish identity. Hosting Kabalat Shabbat, a new student-led shul was inaugurated, and students were given various resources to support them for the year ahead.
